Rant of the Day

First of all, I'd like to give my condolences to the people of the United States of America especially those who have lost family and friends during the events of 9-11.

I hope and pray that the real perpetrators of those horrific attacks would be brought to justice. While they most likely will escape justice in this life, they cannot escape the justice of the Creator of the Universe.

@Sea_Cow - The EDSA revolution was peaceful for the most part. It was a case of soldiers refusing to fire on masses of unarmed civilians who only had flowers and rosaries. If you read into it, you'd see how majority of the Philippine army refused to follow orders and side with the people. EDSA is the perfect example of a peaceful revolution that brought down a dictatorship (it wasnt really totally peaceful as there were isolated skirmishes here and there).

A dictator is charismatic. That's how he'd get absolute power in the first place. But he can only dupe the people for a limited period of time until it comes to a point where even his own military will stop cooperating, therefore making it all fail. That is why a one-man dictatorship is an outdated concept. A scientific dictatorship is the new thing.

@patoborracho - the gap between the rich and the poor gets wider and wider. As more people loose their jobs and/or become homeless.

@SarahN, Walrus, Akki333, trevoramueller, Peipei - thanks.

@JustNoPoint - after drawing guns a few times I'm starting to get the hang of it. Though IMO, the easiest guns to draw are pistols, hunting rifles, AK-47s and WW2 "grease guns".

@krisikas - according to soldiers whove been in a firefight, they say that most of the time, guys don't just fall down like they do in the movies. It takes a few shots to kill a man.

@Aussie_kid - a dictatorship is good if you have angels running it. However if you read more into the psychology of human nature, you'd find out that humans need checks and balances to keep them from abusing power. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I repeat. A free society is all about CHECKS AND BALANCES. On both the people and the government.

@ghostrunner -… and there's a danger of it happening in the USA. Hope it doesnt happen.
