Rant of the Day
—————————

I understand that not all of you know how to fix your computer. And some of you might be just too intimidated to get a screwdriver and open up that case.

But anyway, to cut it short, my advice to you is to GET IT FIXED THROUGH THE SMALL COMPUTER SHOPS!!!

Again. THE SMALL COMPUTER SHOPS ARE YOUR FRIEND. Yes. Those small stores that are usually run by some South Asian guy (99.99% of the time its a guy) who most definitely KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. Why? Its because he is most likely the owner of that store or a close trusted friend of the owner of the store.

That means that most likely he has at least 10 years of experience working in the computer field and since he's grown old, he just decided to put up his own business because face it. There's alot of stress in the corporate IT world and its alot less stressful to just sit around drinking coffee and watching TV all day as you wait for a customer.

Also, these guys usually have a university education. So don't underestimate them just because they have a thick accent or speak gramatically incorrect English.

But on the other hand, if you get your computer fixed in one of those big retail stores, its a KID who is gonna handle your computer. Some self-proclaimed "geek" with no certifications or qualifications (you're lucky if he's got a highschool diploma). Why is that? Do you think a retail store would actually pay someone who has the experience and qualifications? Being the big corporate greedy fat cat bastards they are? OF COURSE NO!!!

Think about it. Why would someone with a university degree and multiple IT certifications work for some cheapass employee-abusing minimum wage slave labour retail store? Um… maybe if its some fresh graduate or new immigrant just looking to gain experience. And if they do hire a fresh graduate/ skilled new immigrant, as soon as they gain 2-3 years experience, they're definitely gonna leave for some better-paying job.

Cuz its not really a difficult decision between minimum wage and $20 per hour.

That is why, in the big retail stores it is usually: SALES CLERK = COMPUTER TECHNICIAN. Don't expect them to be that competent. Go easy on them. Don't get angry if you see them fumbling around and not knowing what they're talking about. Don't expect them to be technically competent since they're only getting paid minimum wages (the technically competent leave for better pay after a short while as I mentioned earlier).

Or better yet, just pull out your computer and get someone more competent to fix it for 1/2 to 2/3 of the price the big retail stores charge.

@Walrus, Akki333, trevoramueller, Peipei, worstcase, BlkKnight, JeanSeishin - thanks.

@SarahN - he could just be playing dumb. Besides, this comic needs a bit of fun sometimes.

@magickmaker - crit is appreciated.

@JustNoPoint - I havent drawn her in awhile though. lol

@rdnetto - I know what you mean. Understanding good is also difficult to comprehend. Because while people normally act in their self-interest, its amazing seeing people whose motivation comes from the sincere desire of helping those around them and committing acts of self-sacrifice that can be physically painful at times. Regardless of what religion they are.

@krisikas - maybe that would happen. lol

@ghostrunner - Interesting stuff. Anyway I've read your comic and yes it gets deep sometimes. I might do fanart for GNS one of these days… lol Ghost hunting? You know what, its one thing that scares me.

@patoborracho - gotta do it, man. I'm saving up for something big.

@Aussie_kid - Its not more of the death that makes me cry. Its more of because of the extreme admiration I have of my own fictionalized / idealized characters who would do heroic actions until the very end. As well as the humanization of even the darkest of villains. Its basically like saying "if this didnt happen, you wouldn't have been this dark villain… What a waste of a beautiful soul."
