Rant of the Day

I just watched "Batman: Dark Knight" and man… IT IS FULL OF PROPAGANDA. Why?

1) The Joker said something along the lines of "order out of chaos". It was that scene where he was talking to Harvey Kent. Also, the Joker was all about creating a new kind of criminal. That isn't motivated by the money. A new order. Though at the same time, its a more subtle way of saying it in our faces that the real bad guys do not care much about money. But rather, the excitement and the CONTROL they gain over the people. That is what they're after.

2) Its trying to make wiretapping and surveillance look like a good thing. Its fine. Batman just listens to every cellphone conversation in Gotham city in order to find the terrorist. Err… The Joker I mean.

3) Promotion of the idea that its good to take away one's freedom for your "safety". In the dinner table conversation, Harvey Kent mentions something along those lines. All about giving up the power of the people to one man. So that one man can protect them. Seriously. Read your history. Every single time the fate of a nation is placed in the hands of one man, it ends up as a totalitarian state.

4) Harvey Kent reminds me of Barack Obama. The way his character was portrayed. The savior of Gotham. Yes. He will save you from all the mobsters!!! Put your faith in him!!! Speaking of saviors, do you know who your savior is? Look at the mirror. THAT is your savior. Its not Obama. Its not Bush.

5) Pre-conditioning the public to accept MARTIAL LAW. You know the part where the Joker and his goons just had bombs exploding all over the place? And the commissioner called in the National Guard because of the "crisis". And then the people were herded by the National Guard. That's pre-conditioning the public to accept… that the soldiers are your savior. That Martial Law is good.

6) Promotion of the idea that national ID cards are good. Errr… There was nothing they can find on the Joker. If only he had a national ID card, they would have been able to find out who he is. Its a good thing. It helps catch the terrorists!!! This is the more subtle propaganda that film had. lol

7) George Bush is Batman - He is the hero we "need" and not the hero we "want". Because he is unpopular. Though he is unpopular, he still is the hero. Get it?

On the other hand, that movie is VERY WELL WRITTEN and ENTERTAINING. Exactly what is needed to teach the public what is good for them. Exactly what is needed for predictive programming.

@JustNoPoint - Do you think you'd be believe if you were caught sitting on top of a little girl? lol. There's no point trying to convince the public that you're exorcising a little girl. That's not gonna hold water in a court of law.
