Rant of the Day

Its sometimes a heartwarming experience to get to re-establish communications with people you havent met for more than 15 years. People I went to school with. People more or less my age (26-28). At this point, 95% of them are already married and have small children.

Feels kinda weird when you realize that people you went to grade school with… are now mommies and daddies. :)

Life must go on eh…

@Anonymous - Wha? Did you just tell me to go hang myself? :) Nice to see you Mr Anonymous. Just wish I knew who you are. Well thanks for dropping by and have a good one.

@Annika - Yes the inquisition and crusades are criminal acts. But then again that premise is based on the assumption that Catholics are Christians. Are Catholics Christians or is Catholicism a separate religion in itself that is a hybrid between Paganism and Christianity?

That is a whole new area of religious debate that only gives me a headache going through argument after argument and still not being sure if Catholicism should really be considered in the same boat as Christianity. As an ex-catholic though, I have observed that the intelligent catholic and the catholic priests know more about RELIGION (dogma… what they call "sacred tradition" that is interwoven with the Bible) rather than focus on JESUS CHRIST.

And one time I asked one of these intelligent Catholics about where his loyalty lies… The pope or Jesus Christ? He couldnt give me an intelligent answer (unless you consider something along the lines of "The pope CANNOT contradict Jesus as that is impossible! The Pope = Jesus Christ on Earth!" as an intelligent answer. Because if Jesus Christ is the son of God, then how could it be possible for a man to be equal to the son of God?). Its as if I "short-circuited" his logic.

As for Muslims, they tend to be more war-like when it comes to religion to the point where I sometimes feel like I'm dealing with someone suffering from paranoia when asking a Muslim certain things about their religion. One time, a Muslim thought I was insulting Mohammad just by asking a minor question that I couldnt even remember at this point. And that Muslim is the same guy who handed me a flyer and a few pamphlets portraying Islam as this tree-hugging religion of peace.

Meanwhile, even that "crazy" pastor I talked about a couple rants back can engage in a civilized discussion without raising his voice and being confrontational. I saw him on the street debate atheists, muslims, catholics, etc. And he'd only start yelling and screaming when the other guy (its usually a man) gets in his face.

And btw, the Klan was started by Albert Pike… a Freemason. The Klan is NOT Christian. Every Christian I asked says that the Klan is of the devil.

@SoniaCBU - That very small church strongly believes that the use of symbols for Christ or God is considered "idolatry". Because pagans do that. Also, the concept of the trinity is considered to be a contradiction to the concept of ONE God by this church. Because every believer needs to be ONE with Jesus Christ. I forgot the little details this pastor mentioned but that is the jist of it.

I came across this church because they were out on the street holding up "Jesus is Lord" signs. They were pretty loud and "in your face" too. Imagine some guy preaching on a loudspeaker while other church members are behind him holding up signs and handing out flyers and talking to people who pass by. One time the pastor yelled to a group of Muslims this: "MOHAMMAD IS DEAD AND ALLAH IS A DEMON! REPENT AND ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR!!!" Then when I later expressed disagreement for that particular action of his, he basically replied that Jesus was not a coward and it is the duty of every Believer in Christ to be bold and to get out there without fear for what others will say about you. Then he made a long winding foaming at the mouth rant about political correctness.

"If you fear offending people by preaching Christ, then you have no right to call yourself a Christian," the pastor said. "Jesus Christ died for you on that cross. Therefore you should not be afraid to die for Christ!" That remark shouldnt be taken out of context as a call to violence. Hell no. He was saying that in reference to the early Christians who were persecuted in Rome. In other words, this pastor is totally anti-violence but he is not afraid of being killed because if he gets killed it will only mean "going back home."

Re: Eman: Pre-marital sex with an anime character is of the devil! Repent! : ) lol And you're not the only fangirl. Haha.

@Asbin - yep. Ahnold Swastikanegger. :D
