Rant of the Day

Do you think I should do a cosplay contest? My characters are rather easy to cosplay. No need for fancy costumes. Yay or nay?

@Walrus - I appreciate those movie reccomendations. Will look at them when I have time.

@Sariling Mundo - When people are desperate they take anything. I know the plight of the street kids in the Philippines. Very depressing. But on the positive side, I have personally noticed how their ability to bond and be human is still intact. It hasn't been brainwashed out of them…

@Monitor - Russ website got taken offline multiple times in the past. Either his website or his radio broadcast. Chosen Ones listen to his show like a hawk. He routinely gets death threats. Many times they have made attempts on his life and his family. Russ has connections in the police. Maybe thats part of why he is protected.

@Quicksilver - So far you seem to be knowledgeable in alot of things. For one, you can school me in physics any day. I'm a complete moron in physics. I only passed physics because I showed up in class all the time and the teacher was my friend and he didnt think I deserved to fail.

Anyway please answer these questions:
- What is your background?
- How did you find out about this comic?
Take those things to me privately if you dont want them discussed in public.

Now to address your points:

1) Re: Russ Dizdar is just out there for the money?
- His book is published at Lulu.com. Lulu.com, being a self-publishing company tends to charge high prices on published books. How do I know that? Published MAG-ISA through that site as well. High publishing cost. So I said screw it.

- Besides. Factor in the cost of what he does for a living to help with his noble mission. I'm not very good in math but I just have more or less an idea. Maybe you are good in math. Please calculate and estimate the costs when it comes to:
a) Travelling in and out and around the country. Gas? Air fare? Russ walks the walk. He actually goes out there and engages Chosen Ones and other demon-possessed individuals. Exorcism can be a very tiring and time consuming job. You travel to meet the client. Then stay there for hours or even days. Then get paid "whatever feels right for the client". Or sometimes if the client is financially challenged, all for FREE.

I personally know a good number of hypnotherapists. Some of them do what is called "spirit releasement". All of em say they dont do demons because it takes too long and engaging demons takes a toll on them psychologically. Just ghosts. But they charge give or take $200 for "spirit releasement".

b) Hosting a website, buying airtime for a radio program, etc.

c) Buying books to read. Aside from engaging chosen ones on the ground, he rans a radio program in where he debunks the ideologies of the dark side. I read his book. Looked at his bibliography. Damn. Looks like 500+ books give or take. Aside from that, he does alot of seminars to train people to do what he does. All free on the web. Just ripped and spread far and wide. He doesnt care. He encourages listeners to put it all over the internet.

Meanwhile… we have well-known hypnotherapist Dr. Cal Banyan (also does spirit releasements) who filed copyright claims and had videos he had taken off of google or the torrents. You may find some here and there but those are just the equivalent of "spare change" or perhaps purposely put out there by him as part of his marketing strategy. But the real meat and potatoes… his 5-path-hypnosis system… a system based on biblical and buddhist teachings combined with Carl Jung… repackaged into "5 path"… just taken down like that. Knowledge IMO that could fix alot of mentally ill people whose mental illnesses isnt caused by physical symptoms.

d) Feeding his family.

Unfortunately, money is needed to get things done in this world. So I think the price tag on his books is justified. The bulk of is cash flow is by donations by his churchgoers. Oh btw… his "church" is ran off the internet. No physical building because its alot cheaper that way.


2) Re: Atheism and depression
- I respect your opinion. You are very articulate and you don't resort to ad hominem attacks. Hey… whatver floats your boat, man. Just sharing my own opinion on atheism which is based on personal experience and dealing with other atheists. Feel free to post up your opinions in this comment board. Get others thinking. This is NOT the church of Kyupology. :)

I just have a problem with the idea that this world is all there is and man's purpose in life is just to pass on his genes and breed just like any other animal. That idea. In itself. IS depressing.


3) Re: Roy Masters
- I would need to break down his points in a more detailed fashion in a future rant. His main key point I agree with: MOST HUMANS ARE IN A STATE OF HYPNOSIS. ALOT OF RELATIONSHIPS (romantic, friends, professional, etc.) ARE ABOUT INTERACTIONS BETWEEN BULLIES AND COWARDS in where the bully is the hypnoTIST while the coward is the hypnoTIZED.
