Hey everyone! :3 this poem is probably the most pertinent out of all the ones I have, because the person it's written about is the person I based Tom off of. And note the word Misfit! Like, Misfit Assassins! I wrote this right when I was fleshing out my idea for the comic. I don't think I had actually started drawing my comic yet though.
oh, and I'm sure you agree with me, the last line is really pretty. That's because….
well, one of my favorite poems of all time ever is the one from Lolita, and here are the last two stanzas:
Wanted, wanted: Dolores Haze.
Her dream-gray gaze never flinches.
Ninety pounds is all she weighs
With a height of sixty inches.

My car is limping, Dolores Haze,
And the last long lap is the hardest,
And I shall be dumped where the weed decays,
And the rest is rust and stardust.
(jesus I wish I could write like that!) and I think from there you can make your own conclusions about my literary allusions.
(another awesome stanza, goes like:
who is your hero, dolores haze?
one of your blue-capped star-men?
oh the balmy days and the palmy bays
and the cars and the bars, my carmen!

isn't that just magical? Don't your insides just dance with the sheer sonorous ecstasty? Doesn't your heart just ache for poor Lolita, and Humbert Humbert? T_T.)

Oh and didn't the background come out neat? What I did was, I looked up "lace" "black lace" "doily" etc in a search engine until I had a bunch of cool lace samples, and then I cloned them all onto one photoshop canvas, some of them I cloned set on "normal" and others set on either "lighten" or "darken", with different opacity levels. Then, when it was so that I liked it, I screened blue and sickly pink over the finished piece, and made it into my background. (usually I have horrid, hideous backgrounds, so I was glad to break that time-honored tradition.) ;D!
