Ink Shading Experiment

I used to do the ink shading thing, but when I started scanning in & coloring it was such a pain because the lines would be on the background & the color would cover up the lines, so I adopted more of a "coloring book" style of just outlines.

However a while back I discovered a way to put the lines on a layer above the background & put the color below that, although I kept using the coloring book style even though ink shading is no longer a problem.

Anyway, I've recently pulled out some how-to art books to refresh my skills & while doing this sketch I decided to try ink shading again.

Went a little overboard, but otherwise I'm happy with it.
