Oz mentioned when he read the strip where Tiller got Terran Defender that he didn't think much of the idea of sending her out without a shakedown. Here's what happens with an untested crew. C S Forrester writes about it in "Ship of the Line" where Captain Hornblower is forced to take an undermanned untrained crew to sea. I thought I'd touch on that here.
