I have read in literature where the term Mage is used on all sorts of magic welders. Mages in these stories wield different flavors of magic. Some are elemental users while others are druids an still others wield necromantic energies such as the apprentice Hindu Kush.
The magic she and Silver Stripe are encountering down in Curse Valley is raw magic. It hasn’t been refined into the different flavors of magic. HK has figured out since the magic is raw she should be able to wield it, or at least direct it. Hindu Kush is one smart cookie.
