Lord of the Emeralds

Sorry but I seen this sprite of Tails and immediately thought about one of the scenes from the 1st Lord of the Rings film

And yes I know its the Master emerald that keeps it afload but how else do you explain the emeralds (and super emeralds) in Sonic 3 & Knuckles? (unless its one emerald to rule them all…)

And if only every comic was as easy and quick as this one to sprite…
