There was no way to get around showing Maria's crotch in this shot. In order to allow movement of the hip joints most of the lower pelvis is empty. There have been lots of practice and experimental photos done to work out how to cover the joints quickly and realistically.

That has included doing completely nude images and it's a lot of work to do a "flash of bush".
