And that's the second part of the history lesson.

pic #1: The real Roland is a statue on Bremen central market square that serves as a kind of guardian spirit. The legend goes that Bremen will remain free as long as Roland is still standing there. Also, he used to be a symbol for justice. At least in the Middle Ages, frauds and cheaters were exposed in a cage right next to him if they were caught. I also used him as "first"-button for this comic.

"Ursäkta, vad har de?" should be Swedish for "Pardon me, what do they have?" if those translation sites are not as bad as I actually think they are.

pic #2: "Älska, krige inte" should mean "Make love, not war" or so I was told.

pic #3: My depiction of Wrangel is based on a contemporary portrait. The old senator right next to him is let's say… heavily inspired by the label of a local schnapps brand called "Alter Senator" ("Old Senator"). And they don't pay me a single cent!
As Gundula has always been an expert distiller she doesn't serve anything but her very own moonshine, by the way.
