I'd scripted this football-related story arc quite some time ago but I wasn't sure when to include it. The good results of the German team - until the last match against Spain :( - at the world cup in South Africa kind of made it easy for me to decide in its favour. No intimate knowledge about anything football will be necessary for this, by the way - I'm no expert either.
If there's anything I find tedious to draw it's crowds. The first panel took me almost as long as all the others together, even if it might not even look it. Grrr!
I think I'm going to get myself a beer and watch the match for the third place… Just remembered that it's tomorrow - well doesn't matter.
