Hallowe'en Special - Gesche Gottfried - Part One

Yes, it's true. This is the first part of a double update. I'll post the second half of this story on Hallowe'en itself, i.e. in two days. On Friday next the vet story will continue.

This is based on a true story. Of course I've applied a reasonable amount of artistic freedom, but the basic facts are as Gundula tells them.

The sequence in the past is drawn in pencil only, firstly because I like to try that from time to time for the effect, secondly there already is a print comic about Gesche Gottfried, also drawn in pencil only, so you might think of it as a kind of homage. (But please keep in mind that my approach to the story and Barbara Yelin's have absolutely nothing in common otherwise).
Thirdly, it helped getting it all done in time.

My portrayal of Gesche herself is based on historical drawings. As for the other persons, I haven't got a clue what they looked like, so I drew actors from old b&w crime movies, notably movie adaptions of Edgar Wallace novels. I drew them partly from memory, though, so they might not be as accurate as I think. Random trivia: the wife of the actor playing the senator is called Gundula, too.

ed.: I found out what Mr Droste looked like a month later. Totally different of course (a bit chubby, dark-haired and bearded). Lol!

The Master the Tiger wallpaper is still available. Check out the previous page for details.
