That "M" on their chests… its an envelo-tuner. Its like a beacon that let's a dispatcher on Aerth know where you are so they can pull you back into the envelope, and send you wherever (in this case, back to Aerth).

The skirt/dress uniform for D was a late decision. Originally she had the same uniform as everyone else, hence the term "uniform," right? Well, I said the heck with it! Actually, I've been reading a lot of Legion of Superheroes lately and I like some of their costume ideas…. particularly from Gary Frank's run on Action comics recently (or maybe less recently by the time that this posts).
