The Trial of John - Page 118

Duhn Duhn Duuuuuuhhhhhnnnn!

You know Peter is one of those characters that I love to write, but I could just never work him into the story very much. So his moments are always a joy for me. He's the perfect combination of naive and smart-ass, as you can tell from this page. I almost left him out because this is kind of a serious moment, but I figured that it would balance it out a bit, and– I don't think we've gotten to see Peter and John interact, thus far. So this kind of satisfies that as well.

I wrote some extensive comments again, so I'll let that happen here in a second, rather than overwhelm you with jabber. Thursday, you don't want to miss. Unless you're at Harry Potter, or watching the 72 hour director's cut of Watchmen– You'd do well to be here. There's your hype for the day.

Thanks for reading and commenting, and of course… I'll see you Thursday!

CommentS!

Oldguy - doesn't it though? We'll see soon enough!

DAJB - Ditto! It's the curiosity of uncharted territory!

Corey - Thanks! I've gone crosshatch crazy! I will admit, the cross hatching on the columns– I cheated a bit. That's a brush.. but the rest of it (the hatching on the figures, etc) is me. And, yes, I think I've hit a point where I feel a lot more comfortable with what I'm doing, both in the program, in the digital medium, and just overall as an artist. Incidentally, the program I've been using since Chapter 4 is Manga Studio. For black and white "ink" work, its the best thing I've found yet. I have been experimenting more and more with painter, but nothing that really suits Mastorism yet.

darkwaterfrey - Hey– ditto/thanks! And trust me when I say i've gotten crazy with the cross hatching. I go a little nuts over the next few pages, i think I'm going to have to tone it down a notch or three.

jazzcop - Wetworks! Awww, cut Whilce a break. He had some family stuff, and then a lot a trouble with his own health (diabetes, I think). He's back in it now, abeit on Spawn. He was right around the corner from me at SuperCon, didn't get a chance to meet him though. You know I have to wonder if this Image United thing will ever come out. It could be a really good joke on everyone. To always talk about it and never do it.

mushroom - Yep! You know, I think I had written "God forbid" originally.. the issue is, in Mastorism U, obviously there isn't any established religion that we know of. Notice the phrase "What in the U?" because there's no concept of Hell (or maybe there is, but none that we've explored). But.. I also didn't want to say "U Forbid" because that just sounds like a bad text message! So, I decided that heaven could refer to "the heavens" or the sky, and I could get by on that, and still have a relatively familiar term. BOOM! There you go, though, ultimately if I had used "God" there might have been even more impact. Oh well.

Trevor - Thanks.

always - Whaddaya spect?

AzuJod - Yeah, there;s really no one to appeal to beyond that!

repoman - That's just John for you. I won't lie, I channel Han Solo a bit when I do his dialog.

Jabali - YEp!

wellsee - Not much longer now!

Thanks everyone!
