Page 19: Phia Says Please

I feel this title is apt. Phia says please. A lot.

Plot: Relationship drama, I guess. Tam's got the hots for Ezzie now, and Phia seems to think that this is ill-advised. She's certainly being a little blunt.

Art: Overused the dodge and burn tools. Worked hard on the sitting positions, but Phia's torso is still too long. The eyes need work. Deteriorating background quality.

Comic: Moving slowly for a change. That might not be such a bad thing.

Coming Up Next: More Phia. Because she's awesome.

It _could_be that he is way to young for her and she will never take him seriously. … or it could be something completely different.

Not writing you a novel Jr. But this page is one of my favorites, it's not horibly long, but it has a lot of character developement, and. . . it's pretty!

For shading, use the drop tool instead of the dodge/burn tools to pick a darker color, or, if they're in a lighted environment, pick one color to shade with and stick with it. ^_^ Same with the lighting– either pick a lighter color than each base color, or, in a dramatic environment, use one color to light. ^_^ I know that doesn't make much sense– maybe I'll make a tutorial.

awwww ; ; I'm curious as to why she doesn't want him to fall in love with her :(

Nice page! I like your shading. You do really well without references for body positions! (I can't do that. I have to take pictures of myself with an auto-timer on my digital camera…)

I can offer a suggestion to help create eyes. ;-) Phia looks a teensy bit wall-eyed here. Just think of the further away eye as a shortened version on the eye you see in full (rather than considering it as "part" of an eye). If you see white on both sides of one iris, you should see at least a little on both sides of the other iris too. (I agree, eyes are tricky, especially at an angle like that.) Experiment with the angles of the eyelids (top and bottom) and reflections to play with expressions. (I have a page of nothing but sketches of different eye shapes somewhere, trying to figure out what looks sad or thoughtful or startled…)
