It has been implied that only people who are on the brink of death, distressed, or particularly gifted can see Death - unless he outright wants you to see him.

What has not been mentioned is that certain gifted people are also able to sense disturbances centering around places, objects, and - in some particularly upsetting cases - individuals.

Regarding the process of making this comic: This… was… HELL.

It took me days just to get this comic perfect, and before I could finish drawing in the voice bubbles (I was putting it off, and doing other things) I did some foolish collection of actions that somehow caused my entire computer to outright DIE on me. All I get is a blinking light.

So, I had to move everything to my PC (luckily I backed up the Mel&Mac script prior to this incident) and redraw everything for today's comic. It's more or less the same as it was before, only done easier with various other details (I actually drew the hospital in this one, and left out the car from the original which I couldn't do because I suck at drawing cars).

Let this be a warning to all of you - when you are doing disk defragmenting, DON'T knock over a cup of water with a computer cord.
