As denoted by Page 1 of this chapter, he is, in fact, this gullible.

And apparently a mama's boy.

I basically considered Simon that atypical "geek" character, living with his mom and spending all his time online (as seen by last week's endless span of pages with him in the SAME POSTION EVERY TIME). In essence, he's me.

This isn't specifically to place myself in the series, of course. It just kinda happened. To be honest, he is way more obsessed with the Grim Reaper than I am. I really only have a passing interest in the possibility of its physical existance. He's spending his life trying to figure it out - he sees it on the scale of Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster.

Also, he wears glasses. I totally don't wear glasses. And my hair is much darker. Though to be honest, he looks really pale like that, I think I might darken his hair at least to a dirty blonde…

Anyway, the first panel was actually completely redrawn, I had another image with him in the car on the phone but I realized this was the perfect time to point out within the series (thus making it canon, haha) that Harridan County is a coastal region. Unfortunatly, his car was incredibly difficult to draw. I can't draw cars, and I even forgot to acknowledge that from the inside he only appears to have front seats, while in the wide shot I gave him doors to the (apparently nonexistant) backseat. So I had to fix that.

Let's just pretend his car is a strange insectoid model designed so that you cannot tell which end is front and which end is back.

(And I suddenly realized, it doesn't have a rearview mirror, either. Let's assume it's busted.)
