So, you finally get to see Melody's house. I was originally thinking of a sort of Addams Family/The Munsters look, but I eventually decided it was too much.

The last panel had a few changes - I went from him with his "evil" triangle eye look, to a sort of happy expression (which was supposed to be a bit creepy and uncomfortable - "Do we laugh? Do we not?" - but it just came off as a cheap laugh)… and after I'd already finished, I thought I should probably be doing a view of Melody, scared out of her wits at the sudden realization that one day, she would die. But… meh, that might come through in Panel 2, so whatever…

I was toying around in my head with what Death actually refers to by the "immortal" individuals. And if they do, in fact, come into play in this series (or have already). I'd talk more about my own thoughts, but… now, I'm thinking it'd be more fun to keep you all guessing. :)

However, I will say this… what Death says in his page is, for him, actually optimism. Which ties the chapter together, eh?

He is convinced that he will eventually claim all the souls - the souls claimed by the Bogeyman and others, the souls of immortals, and maybe souls of things one may not consider "living" (for instance, the Earth, the Sun, and the Universe itself).

All I can say is, for someone who sneaks around as a shadow and keeps out of others' sight (for the most part), he has quite a big ego. And a hell of a lot of patience. I would have given up and destroyed the universe already.
