See? Melody can be a contradiction just as much as Death can. First she doesn't know Death's many names, next instance she's a devout reader of Webster's.

Maybe she was wrong and it was just a Thesaurus.

I find it very cute that Death calls her parents "Mom" and "Dad" here. Almost as if he's become a part of the family!

Regarding the days of the week: It does become quite important to know the timeline, so I'll just remind everybody that this is the same day as the past two chapters (ReaperWatch and Optimism). Given that she's had her backpack this long, I'd say she took a detour from school so Death could collect a soul.

And that would mean it's sometime in the afternoon. Already? Gasp! I'll manage time better once more things happen.

Regarding Melody's sweater - after drawing her as I once did, I realized that I didn't like it. It seemed too form-fitting. I tried a last-minute edit to fix this one, but I think tomorrow's will be a lot better. My thinking was… this kid is incredibly scrawny, NO sweater should be able to fit her correctly. Certainly not if her parents don't even pay attention to her. Chances are they BOUGHT it that big, just because they couldn't find an XXXS.

Then again, her mother probably just picked it up at a Goodwill store. Melody's scarf, too.

Speaking of which - I will be trying to add that back in, since I realized in the last chapter that it hadn't shown up since Scene 1. Which is completely insane, since she's been outside a LOT. My argument will be that her backpack keeps her warm, and she's been keeping the scarf in it just in case, but never needed it.

…That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

EDIT: I am aware Death's bubble is missing in Panel 2. I must've been out of it at the time. I fixed it, but DrunkDuck seems to have a problem with ACKNOWLEDGING PAGE CHANGES. I can "select my new image" all I want, but it's not gonna actually WORK.
