Okay, so this is actually the joke I intended for this place. I dunno if I'll delete the one I did or not, but I find this a bit more fun. In particular, there's an in-joke my friend and I will probably be the only ones to acknowledge - the names given are actually alternate possibilities for Melody's name. Lizzie because it seems a bit out-of-date (also a possible reference to Lizzie Borden?) and Melanie which is derived from a Greek word meaning (according to BehindTheName.com) "black, dark."

My friend Laurel didn't like either, so I went with Melody. Can't even remember whose idea it was, but I do remember her thinking it was a pretty name, so there we go.

And I think it's also a bit upsetting (and yet incredibly funny) that Melody's parents are arguing over what they actually named her. Almost makes me wonder if she named herself.
