It's an easy mistake.

I actually came about this joke when I considered that Ace had a very P.I. feeling, and initially would have worked alongside the police - before I came up with the Institute (this isn't the first mention of it, but the first time it's been named in the series).

I have a lot of information on the Solomon Institute, as I plan to feature it not only later on in Mel&Mac, but also in the potential sequel/spinoff that I hope to do, though perhaps with a different artist - or a LOT of practice beforehand. It's not that it'll be much different from Mel&Mac, I just really think that for the action and characters involved, I'll need to get better.

Anyway, back to this comic. In an attempt to avoid reflections, I moved Ace away from the mirror, closer to the door. Unfortunately, I neglected the fact that Simon should still be in front of the mirror, having at least followed him to move him a foot or two so he was where Ace was. Sorry about that.

A random thought about their heights - I've decided for a while that Simon is at least a half a head higher than Ace, physically, though Ace's hair actually makes him taller than Simon. Unfortunately, that doesn't always go as planned, as it makes it uncertain whether Simon is just really tall, or Ace is really short. I'm tempted to say both, but I wager Simon is at least six feet or so, and Ace is… maybe four inches shorter?
