Seriously.

They originally said more in that last panel. Simon said "HAHA! That's funny!" while Ace responded "I wasn't aware I was joking." When I finally drew Simon, though, I realized it didn't quite work that way.

Things always seem to change when I draw them. It's like working with actors, where they put a bit of themselves into the lines and it ends up coming off quite differently from how I wrote it. Ah, well.

So, I guess the "joke" here makes you ask, "Are we going to see the Sandman in Mel&Mac?"

No. It's Melody & Macabre, not Melody & Fantasy.

Hey, look! Return of the balcony! Enjoy it, because I refuse to draw that anymore.

A random note on Melody's hair - I do believe I'll be taking her back to her pigtails throughout the majority of Act III, which is good, because I'm sick of the Many Hairstyles of Melody Corvi. She's supposed to be a 7-year-old with pigtails, dammit, and I'm doing way too much of this nighttime and missing ribbon junk.

One more nighttime moment in Act III, and I think that's it. Like, two pages. And that should be IT.

Why am I promising this? Because you're gonna need SOME regularity to cling to in Scene III. Everything else is going to be severely upended.
