I know I've said it before, but… no good can come of this.

There's a sort of in-joke in Panel 1. The four knocks are supposed to evoke a sense of Beethoven's 5th Symphony, with the motif of fate knocking. Just seems appropriate for the series. Moreso than two knocks.

So, here we have Ms. Rook. She looks like she should be Ms. Wampyr, though, eh?

Actually, she looks a bit like she should be Mr. Wampyr. I was going for a witchlike appearance, but… it really just came out that she looks like a transvestite. Who knows? Maybe she is. I'm not gonna judge. But it doesn't come into the story.

If it did, though, what happens later will make it seem like a political commentary. So let's just go with my original intention, and agree that she is just a very very homely woman.

I really really like Panels 2 and 3. 1 is pretty good too. I don't like 4 at all though.

Actually, Panel 4 suffers from many of the same problems as Panel 2 - positioning. Rook should be looking down in Panel 2, but she's not. Almost like she's at eye-level with Melody, which is ridiculous, because… well, Melody's tiny.

But I absolutely ADORE Panel 3. I didn't think I could pull it off, but she looks so damn cute when viewed from adult height!

More character enjoyment this week. Hopefully I'll manage them much better than I did with Rook.

If anybody questions differences between this and the old comics, it's because I have new versions of Paint (for Vista) and the GIMP. This means my fonts and sizing are a bit different. I mean, the page is the same size, but… it's off, around the lines. Don't look at it though! Suspension of disbelief, yes?

I'll hafta figure something up for the copyright, though. Not gonna work the way Paint's doing the text now.
