…Huh.

So, here we have another page where I had to rewrite some stuff for Max so she didn't suddenly disappear. Oddly enough, it seems I'm giving some of my coolest Ace lines to her. But that's okay, it makes him seem like less of a scene-stealing jerk and her as more than a cardboard cutout.

This page also offers an interesting show of me rehashing previous scenes - and TAKING FOREVER TO DO IT. I essentially had to start from the foundation (I start with general sketches now), and edit those. Then, of course, I gotta build back up with lining, coloring, text, and bubbles. It's a pain, especially when most of my rehashing is just taking the latest stages and just shuffling them around, editing mouths, and adding text and bubbles.

I could have just as easily redrawn, but… I really wanted to keep some of the scale of the thing.

I don't think I pulled off Panel 4 just right. Simon's supposed to be surprised at her sudden appearance with goggles. By the way, they're not unlike his shades. They're not as dorky as I hoped they'd be, though. Maybe some other time.

This might just be because I've missed the bastard, but Death tapping on the glass is frickin' adorable to me.
