Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, "You will find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view." That may or may not apply to monsters.

In all honesty, I think there may very well be monsters in the Mel&Mac universe, though purely on the literal basis, there may only be two varieties (as long as you count out the freakshows that are likely to come about, as may be shown in the sequel/spinoff, should I ever get around to it).

The first kind are people, ordinary people, who do horrible things. In this category, you will find Samael.

The second kind follows the second definition available of "monster". And the third. And the fourth.

…And possibly the fifth.

…And the sixth and seventh.

This category, strictly speaking, only consists of one. And I think we all know which one.

Art geekiness! Melody's hand is on the wall in the stairwell. I should note that originally it was on a railing, which made her look a lot better, but then I remembered that I forgot the railing last time I showed it, so I deleted it. I still like how she turned out, though. Sorta. The bows are more realistically sized, at least.

Today seems to be a big one for in-jokes between me, myself, and I (see EpicSaga for my other). This one involves something I think I've mentioned before - where the original plan was for Ms. Rook (then Ms. Wampyr, who ended up being the caretaker when Ace lived there) to turn out to be a vampire. Big shocker, right? Then I realized I was pulling something of a Boxcar Children move, and dropped it.

For those who don't know, The Boxcar Children is a series of books that… well… okay, the first book is about them living on their own in the wild, in an old boxcar (hence the name). It's an interesting look at survival or somesuch. Then comes the string of sequels that turn them into Mystery Novels, which… I didn't ever read because I was baffled how they'd suddenly be solving mysteries. And when Mel&Mac started becoming like that, I thought… "Waitaminute, what?" So I dropped it.

…Kinda.

Also, does the background look familiar? Yeah, when I had to change everything around, I had to put the stairwell there. Luckily it doesn't show up earlier, sooo… there ya go.
