I know, Samael. I can't believe he made it either.

So, I'm sure you have a few questions. Some new facts have come to light. Namely about Melody.

Though we also get to see that all the orphans are alright. Ya wussies. I could have slaughtered 'em all and shifted the rating to Mature.

I could have also shown Melody's parents when they were gored.

Anyway, so. Yes, apparently Samael's shinigami eyes offer some fancy details that only Death himself would know. I guess that's what happens when you start collecting souls for your own. That and the ability to fire a hadouken.

Melody's birthday is in honor of my cat, who died during the run of this series. The date, at least - she's a bit older than he was. 1990 does firmly date the series, though, which was necessary for me to get the exact timing for the events (1997) and how likely it would be to snow - and what forms of technology I'm allowed to use.

Yeah, yeah, spare me the griping about the anachronistic flash drives.

As for her middle name… well, that's in honor of one of my best friends, who always reminds me surprisingly of Melody, and in fact led me to decide Melody's eyes would be gray, not blue as originally meant to be implied (despite lack of color at the beginning). She is also the only person to know the last chapter before anyone else.

…She's also, thankfully, still alive as of this writing. As far as I know.

This also provides something interesting. Melody's initials spell out MAC, which gives a strange suggestion that every time I shorthand the series "Mel&Mac," I am basically saying "Melody and herself." That's… unusual. So let's ignore it.

So. I wonder what kind of things could possibly freak out a nutjob like Samael.

(Feel free to guess, but I'm not going to confirm or deny anything.)
