Silly Wizard, Lies are for Rogues
Hopefully you get the name of this. The last page was a final fantasy 9 reference. Well, apparently the Shadow is the only one at whom blame is laid for this act of Genocide. And let me explain this now since I didn't I didn't bother writing it into the comic but it's one of those "In this world" kinda things. In this world The Council of Gold are the corrupt leaders of what is called the East. The Council are all extremely powerful wizards and are constantly in observance of other wizards since magic is what they consider their biggest threat-hence when Shadow blew up the town they responded quickly to apprehend someone who could wield powerful enough magic to use and make that staff(yes her staff was homemade hence why it broke so easily).

I think that's enough backstory. I'd like to do a whole forum for it, but I'm waiting for the actual maps to get drawn up. I have one, but it sucks so Monica is going to redraw it so everyone else can enjoy it and read it after this chapter ends. So hopefully all the background stuff can be enjoyed and a deeper sense of story can come into play here.
