Wow! I have been reading some really interesting comments lately! They're really great!
Though I noticed that there seems to be some confusion about who is broke and who isn't. I apologize. I guess I didn't do a good enough job illustrating that.
Alfred's family is still very wealthy. Alfred's mother wants to marry him with a family that was supposedly even richer than his.
I'll make sure to better explain that in the story as it progresses.
