The lettering is my own handwriting. The more I write, the smaller and harder to read it gets, which is one reason I'm now in the habit of using all caps. The other reason being that, when you take lots of science and math classes, upper- and lower-case letters have various notational meanings, and when your writing is tiny to begin with, you don't want to have to go to the extra trouble of figuring out if that string of letters is a word or a formula.
