"Me-su" is a typical abbreviation that uses only the lead syllables of the primary words in the title. "Sjun" would probably be more properly romanized as "Sun" when following Japanese-to-English convention, but since English already has a word spelled S-U-N, that would have been awkward. And I couldn't just use S-O-O-N, because while I'm pretty blatant, I'm not that blatant.

"Mesu" is a Japanese word with a few different meanings, probably depending on how you write it. I've seen it rendered as "scalpel" (or knife) and "sow" (as in, a female animal), and a quick search also turns up the meanings "to call" and "to wear." I'm confident that, whichever meaning is suggested, it's intended affectionately.
