"Adequate Man" is a story of my own… what form it will eventually take remains to be seen, but in Misfire Reactional, at least, it's a long-running classic comic book title. Many classic superhero comics have an "escapist fantasy" lean to them… the ability to fly or the strength and inventiveness to catch evildoers, for example, are things people wish they could do and indulge in fiction to experience. "Adequate Man", as the title implies, is only superhero escapism as much as it needs to be… the title character has no more superhuman ability than what would be required to get the job done. Part of the drama, then, is in the conflict between the character's "true ability", if there even is such a thing, and his attitudes toward what "can" be done and what "must" be done.
