The police girl is singing the end theme from He Is My Master, a show about two runaways who become maids for a rich boy. Like the majority of Gainax titles, it's a comedy with a heavy emphasis on genre in-jokes. While the company is often criticized for making shows that pander to its fanbase, the viewing audience itself deserves equal criticism for encouraging them.

The ghost is a reference to Pac-Man. The ghost trap is a reference to Ghostbusters. "British titty vampire" is a reference to Dexter. The response is a reference to the type of humor in the show, in which someone will invariably say something that would be extremely revealing if only the other party had a certain piece of information.
