Just some quick notes:

The Chief is Chief Kiiroinu. His son fell in love with a younger girl he saved when he was a young rookie, a young girl named Koko who'd just had her heart broken. Her dad was german, and mother Japanese.

Which means her Maiden name was Shepherd. Ken's full name therefore is Ken Shepherd instead of Kiroiinu. That's why Chief is pale, the others are tan, and why Ken will have a different last name from his sister.
