KB: The comic is set in Portland, and Daria being a stripper is a pretty Portland thing. The factoid "Portland has more strip clubs per capita than any other city" gets thrown around a lot, though I have never seen a source and suspect it's apocryphal. Nevertheless, Portland has a lot of strip clubs, and there's less social stigma about visiting or working at one than in a lot of places.
GB: his is a good one. Drawing the trappings and decor of multiple eras in the same cartoon was always fun for me, and that angle of Daria on the pole as a nekkid Wolverine is pretty cool. My friend John is back there tossing dollar bills with his fingerless gloves.
