Bad Dog page 5
ConnorLachmanec onThe valkyrie flashes a sharp-toothed grin and extends a hand towards him. “Helga,” she says, “drunk and disorderly.”
“Kat,” giggles the lampad, “illegal drug possession.”
“Akantha.” The gorgon stares sullenly forward. “Resisting arrest.”
The cynocephalus shakes Helga’s hand and barks. She looks up at him quizzically. “Wait,” she stammers, “can’t you talk?”
Kat gasps, horrified at her rudeness. “Helga! Of course he can talk! Just not like us!”
“Oh my gods,” Helga exclaims, wide-eyed, “he’s like the perfect man!”
Kat ignores her comment and translates: “He says we can call him Bad Dog.”
“Hey!” A hoarse cry from his right arrests Bad Dog’s attention before the others can formally welcome him to their table.
