Hey look, a filler that isn't a Stinkoman comic!

While my computer is still down the sickness, I bet you're wondering what the I'm doing on a three-day weekend like this. Well I've been busy to keep up with semester finals. That, or I was too busy searching for one of the best manga/anime/gaming novels to ever come out since either Death Note or Cowboy Bebop. I give you Higurashi When They Cry!

So let me lay it down to the basics, and this was yesterday that I got the manga. Before I really took a serious look at it, I fell in love with it. I mean who wouldn't watch a couple of girls kill each other in the bloodies, goriest, metalest ways ever. We're talking about stuff like torture and axes and stuff. The reason? That's what I was trying to find out. So to avoid being a "poser" I searched for almost every book store to find this manga, which came out in November. Luckily I found it, being the only one on the shelf.
Once I came home and after watching MST3K: The Movie, I read it. It's a lot more than what I've expected. It's sorta has that same genre of Death Note, bending reality with the paranormal and it's a mystery too!
The story revolves around Keiichi, the only main character you will see that's a male. The rest are all girls! Let me name them, Mion (who can be seen in my avatar) is like the ringleader of this group of friends, and she has this club that plays games and who ever loses, the winner has to choose a penalty for the person who gets last place. The next one is Rena (seen in this page) and this arc may resolve around her. She's so important in this role, that she even gets the creepiest two pages of the manga and it's in full color! There's something about her being abducted by a demon, but I'm not entirely sure. Next girl is Rika (seen a couple pages back as part of my "random image" on the author notes) and she is the nicest person you'll ever meet. That sums it up really. And Satako (Not seen. Look it up if you want) is the final friend. She sets traps for Keiichi and that's about it.
About the manga is sorta mixed all together. There's like four or three pages of fan service that Keiichi got to choose some penalty and made the girls wear swimsuits, PE Outfits, look like a cat girl, that sorta stuff. But there is a moral to it: Don't push it or they will push you. So it's got some humor involving fan service and sex, but what's weirder is that Rena sometimes have this "Taking Home Mode" when she sees something "adworable", she wants to take it home. She took home a rice maker in a pile of trash, you think that's "adworable"?
But it's not the humor I'm into, it's the mystery and suspicion that's great. I'd tell you, but I don't like to give out spoilers. But the violence was decent! Some guy died because he scratched his throat too hard while being attacked, Corneal Sanders axed to death with a missing arm, it's all great.
Overall, it's really a great recommendable manga to read if you were into Death Note's mystery and twists. I can't wait for the next one to come out next month.
Well, I'll try to keep this alive. In the mean time, carry on!

Note: Mind the mispellings. My dad's keyboard is a little delayed.
