This was far too complicated to make. Well it wasn't once i'd made up my mind what to do. first i wanted an area exsplosion, then i wanted a dirt uppity exsplosion a vapourizey exsplosion. ect ect ect. But I lack the talent to pull them off. gods knows i tried. but in the end i cheated.
I'm sure this might look complicated. The only complicated thing about it is drawing Deme and Felix. The rest? made a /-\ kinda shape in brown, added some quick detail with dodge and burn brushes. added a simple |\ /| for the walls of brown plus detail. add motion blurr to all three. Then add a layer on top of all three and put a gold to white gradient on it. with the white in the middle, set layer to overlay. Circle an area out, delete it. new layer, fill blue, change layer setting and occupancy. add some sparkles. tada. one explosion.

If anyone's confused about the shield. please remember it has already be established that Deme's amulet repels magic attacks of course Felix cant repel magic and would be toast if Deme hadn't sensed the magic coming and hit the deck with both of them. Deme's amulet is a pretty priceless thing. Don't worry, it does have one weakness. which will prove to lead very interesting results. Deme's neckless is pretty important thinking on it. It plays a huuuuge role in the comic at a later date. big surprise there ;) unfortunetly for you, t's a long long long way off, and will make you all want to kill me… ho hum~
