So are we getting the vibe that Laurie's nuts yet? Because this is sort of supposed to imply that, lawl. When you're born into Laurie's family, you're pretty much guaranteed to have some sort of physical or mental fault. Laurie has breakdowns such as this quite often and Noah's had to deal with them more times than he's proud of.

Laurie sets all her (and Noah's!) hard work aflame.
