No one likes the recurring villain.

Why? Why is the recurring villain never cool?

ItÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s simple.

He sucks too much to defeat the good guys, and is too annoyingly, stupidly persistent to stop trying.

If it were any other way, he wouldnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t be a recurring villain. If he were more powerful than the good guys, then he would win, and that would be the end of it. If he were smart enough to stop trying to thwart the good guys, we would never see him again.

So, by definition, a recurring villain is a stupid, annoying, ass-crappy character that people hate, or in some cases, pity, because they can sympathize with his repeated failure to achieve anything in his useless life.
