Author notes
~Page 88 - Quest Log~ Click on the subsequent skulls to view the objectives. What's the point in playing a game with a linear plot? You know that regardless of what you do, the outcome will always be the same. It's like watching a movie that occasionally asks you to click a sequence of buttons to keep watching. Sometimes, linear games give you an illusion of non-linearity; they'll make you think you are making a choice that alters the course of events in a game, when in fact, regardless of your decision, the game just keeps pushing you along the same railroads. Typically, players will only notice this upon replaying a game, trying alternate choices. That's why, when it comes to story-oriented games, nothing can beat the tabletop RPG. Well, nothing short of having Blizzard Entertainment sitting next to you as you play, writing in modifications to the plot and coding them into the game.
