~Page 96 - A Piratical Proposal~

After Pirates of the Caribbean came out, I couldn't help but throw a knock-off of Jack Sparrow into one of my D&D campaigns. He was somewhat of a recurring NPC, serving to transport the PCs in the Blood Raven (which eventually turned into a metal-plated airship) and tie them into quests in a pirate mini-campaign. Hell, I even dressed up as him for a university Halloween party - favorite quote of the night: "I can't talk to you; you remind me too much of Johnny Depp."

Second order of business… I don't know if this happens to you, but in my experience, players discuss things in front of NPCs as though the NPCs can't hear them. I can't even remember how many plans were foiled simply because the NPC was there, listening. I guess they figure since *they* don't listen to the *NPCs,* the *NPCs* won't listen to *them.*

Final order of business: after watching PotC 3 (which I was a little disappointed in - not enough Jack Sparrow), I immediately called it: the next movie in the series will be PotC 4: The Fountain of Youth.

Y'all just wait.
