I thought about doing a Amy Winehouse joke in the last panel, with Pax screaming "I don't wanna go to rehab, No, No, No!" but then I thought of my 17 year old son reading my old Bloom County books and not getting 90% of the references because he had no idea who was in the Reagan administration. I imagined my 7 year old daughter looking at my strips in ten years when she's 17 and not getting who Amy Winehouse was. She would shrug her shoulders, look at me and say, "Dad, did anyone think you were funny back then?"

She'd then pop the latest music of the day into the i-pod implanted in her brain and use her jet pack to meet her boyfriend, you know, that kid from the wrong side of Mars. GOD, I hate that boy.
