Growing up in a competitive, sports-minded family, I sometimes lose sight of what is really important about a child's participation in sports. At times I think it is about skill development, other times about being competitive. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have a ringette coaching staff that helped me realize that it can be about just playing. Who cares about goals and wins? There are no "scouts" at these games. Even if there were scouts, the only thing the girls can do is their best. And that is awesome!
