Does anyone else notice how difficult it is to get back in the swing of things when you go for two weeks without updates? D,x No? *right, then*
I hope everyone had a good Christmas, whether it was busy or quiet. Mah Christmas was a bit of a bummer this year. = =; But that is irrelevent.
I wanted to make sure I got the ground and the walls to look good. I must practice more on background type stuff and I found out something about shading. For corners, you kind of dab all over the place to make it look flatter and more solid. @_@ If anyone can understand what I mean. But many people probably already knew that.
Does anyone remember this guy? Pfff noooo. xD That is Kaje, from Page 90. Woo, he's stoked. xO
The second to last panel has me kind of irritated. x__X; It looks like they both are realizing Kaje is there, but they actually don't see him. (Even after he yelled? They might have just been out of hearing distance or were too distracted by the purdy firey boom in the distance. OR, they just arrived right after he yelled.) It's four in the morning. xD Again.
This is another one-shot page, as in the scene is quickly going right back inside the mansion. I really need to make a rule that no scene should ever last less than two pages. Dx So that, like, more can come out of the short scene so that the pages don't just look like something stuffed in there, randomly. Or… something. I don't think many people will find this page, as that usually happens when they don't expect an update. x__X Gotta build back up again.
I'm rambling. D,x Sorry, I am in a typing mood right now, I s'pose.
Freakeh: "Wow. The use of colour and text is amazing! It's so pretty on the eyes =3 I can just stare at the compilation of colours for hours…
^ ^;; I've actually liked staring at it for a while, myself. It's done in Photoshop and is nothing more than scribbling and then lots of concentraited shading. Then add purdy blasts and light effects. xP
Kira Dwenna: "Ya know, I always thought that pages with huge explosions like this were representative of the artist being lazy.
And NOW I realize that it's pages like these that really add flavour to a story - and did, even when I didn't appreciate them.
I love the word art you did at the bottom of the page. Is 'blast' a good explody word, though? I always thought sounds had to be spelled as they 'sound', not as they make the sound."
One panel pages, I think, are meant most to emphisise something important. Because my comic updates once a week, I can't afford very many of them at all. Dx But they are *VERY* effective in a comic. Though, not if you use too many at once, of course. Blast? Hm. You could have a point there. Blast is a sound though. xD It creates that sound in your head, much the way "splash" does with water. You know it's a word but you still can't help imagining that sound. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I wanted to use "blast" though. But it fit very well in the space so I went with it. @ @ This time we're sporting "boom" and the placement of the word may not be as impressive as last time. Merr. Oh yeah and the house is drawn inconsistantly in its size. Dx The furthest away picture is the accurate one. For some reason I don't notice these kinds of things until after the whole page is CG'ed… In the first panel, the hous should be a lot taller. I probably shouldn't be showing any of the ground at all. D,x
To the rest of you guys, xDDD I am vereh glad you all liked it! Explosions do make people happy and it's nice to know I can do those well (very important too xD). *bows* Thank you thank you!
