Yes. I know it’s weird for me to do a comic on Saturday, but I did not want this one to go to waste, and I have one for tomorrow, so here we go. Special circumstances. Enjoy.
This comic, as it so eloquently states in the last panel, is based on a true story. Basically, I called Electronic’s Boutique today, and whoever answered the phone could not seem to grasp the concept of what the “final retail price†of an item would be. I even stated to them that I wanted to know the finalized price for Guitar Hero III, as it has been jumping around from place to place, and I want to know how much money to put aside. Still, it took a few moments of explaining to this guy what the nature of the information was that I wanted from him.
And then, once he gets a grasp on the concept of pricing, and what they will be charging for said item, I state to him that I need the price for the Playstation 3 bundle, and somehow I was quoted the price of the Playstation 2 bundle. I should have left it at that, taken down his name, and his quote, and then fought tooth and nail to get it at what I was quoted, but I’m too lazy for that.
So I clarify what system I want it for, and he stumbles for a bit, throwing out a number. It did not sound right, so I asked him if he was sure, and he told me to hold a moment while he checked the computer, which in my mind, should have been done first. So he comes back, and quotes me $99.99. I accept it, and hang up, and then think for a moment. I go online, check out EBgames.com, and find out that I was quoted the American price. Joy.
Aside from that, I finally got my internet, and I am working very, very hard on getting Illustrator on my computer to see if I can finally return to drawing the comics by hand, while still using Flash to colour them. Hopefully that works out, because I really like the style that I am going to be drawing them in. You can see it if you are part of the fan club, or if you know my DeviantArt. It’s posted in both locations.
I also found myself a pretty nifty drafting table that I might pick up to fill the empty space in my living room, and I may even use it for drawing. Weird, I know. I just need to throw aside four hundred bucks for it, which is less than I thought I would be paying for one of that quality. We’ll see what happens.
