FFS #27: Glenn's Moment of Clarity... Kind Of

Well, I knew I wouldn't be doing anything yesterday, so I left most of the work for the comic until then, so that I would have something to do. I also went out and rented Hot Rod (which was pretty good, because I love Andy Samberg's style of random humor), and also managed to find Planet Terror and Death Proof on the previously viewed wall at Roger's for $24–the price of one of them on their own new.

Hot Rod is a pretty simple story, with most of the cliches of underdog movies, which wasn't the part of the movie that I liked. It was like watching a really long SNL Digital Short, which is something that I did like. Andy Samberg does a lot of random humor in this movie that is just hilarious, including a cleverly edited "Cool Beans" song for no reason, and the world's longest fall down a hill. I wasn't expecting anything from this movie, and I actually laughed for the majority of it. And Isla Fisher is fucking hot.

I also watched Planet Terror, which is a lot better than I remember it, and a lot less cheesy than I recall, which was nice, too.

I wanted to rent a 360 game while I was out, too, because I haven't turned on my Xbox in ages. I couldn't find any that weren't rented out that I actually wanted to play. The only new game that was still there was Kane and Lynch, and after watching the video review on Gamespot (that got the reviewer fired, no matter what they say to cover it up), I am going to avoid it like the plague. So don't look back on previous posts where I list it as one of those games that I was super pumped for.
