Letting go of familiar responsibilities can be hard, but acquiring a whole new set while simultaneously realizing what an absolute shit storm that entails is a whole different ball game. The situation faced by many new managers in the catering industry is perhaps best summed up by the 'Shutter Island' phenomenon; wherein one realizes that what originally seemed like just another job is actually a spiraling introverted nightmare taking place in an outdated lunatic asylum.
