Artep, the troll kingdom, was inspired by an ancient abandoned city in Jordan called Petra, which is filled with intricate and beautiful buildings carved out of the cliffs. I also based it on artistic renderings of what the Gardens of Babylon might have looked like. It was not easy to draw and I'm not entirely certain I got it right, but it was good practice.

And yes, the trolls of Artep are polygamous, but don't be alarmed by the "status symbol" comment, trolls still encourage that every marriage be based on love, respect and compatibility. Having so many partners, after all, they know exactly how damaging an unhealthy marriage can be.
